This assessment is based on the "Five Drivers" concept, which originates from Transactional Analysis (TA), a widely recognized psychological theory developed in the mid-20th century. In the 1970s, clinical psychologist Dr. Taibi Kahler observed that individuals exhibit predictable, split-second behavioral patterns when entering states of stress. He categorized these unconscious motivators into five distinct Drivers: Be Perfect, Be Strong, Please Others, Try Hard, and Hurry Up. His foundational research on this topic won the 1977 Eric Berne Memorial Scientific Award.
This tool is a self-report questionnaire designed to measure the frequency of behaviors associated with these five primary drivers.
This test is an open-source, heuristic tool designed for workplace coaching, team building, and self-reflection. It evaluates general behavioral tendencies based on public-domain psychological frameworks. It is not a clinical diagnostic instrument, nor is it the proprietary Process Communication Model® (PCM) commercial assessment. The results are meant to facilitate self-awareness, not to provide a medical diagnosis.
